Liberty , Brooklyn and Peter Parker

Today we decided to do the 1/2hr trip on the Staten Island Ferry. We took the subway down to Battery Park and walk around to the huge ferry terminal. The five-mile journey takes about 25 minutes each way. The ferry is free of charge, though passengers must disembark at each terminal and reenter through the terminal building for a round trip to comply with Coast Guard regulations. So one we arrived at Staten Island we made a quick dash off and back onto another ferry with about 2mins to spare. There really wasn’t much for us to do on Staten Island, so we didn’t want to have to wait any longer than necessary to get back to Manhattan .

Once back we the walked around the south side of the island and up to Brooklyn bridge. It so happened that today was the hottest day since July….it was a humid 30c , and to be honest not the best day for walking across to Brooklyn. We started the 1mile walk, but only made it to just beyond the first tower before we decided it was too hot and uncomfortable before turn around and coming back down. We saw enough though, and got some great views.

This evening we went to see the Broadway show ‘Spiderman – turn off the Dark’. We had fantastic seats in the dress circle , right by the ‘landing platforms’ . Its basically the original story of Spiderman, but with amazing ariel flying my Spidey and the baddies. If you are ever in NY, then I would totally recommend this show. Some very different to the usual musical offerings.

Today’s pedometer steps 22,172  (10.31 miles) . Crazies today = 2
