Flame Throwers and Grand Central
So …first morning in NYC and not many places we passed were open at 9am for breakfast on a Sunday, so we caved in and went to Starbucks. After a short stop we started on our hike up the length of Manhattan ! About 5mins into the walk this dude walks up to us and says ” hey buddy know where I can get a flame thrower” Dave says “sorry mate no I don’t ” . ‘ok‘ he says…. ” a Gatling gun then” we ignore him walk a bit quicker ….and then he shouts as we walk up street ” a shot gun then? ….a pistol ?….a sword?“. He then shouts “your not listening to me“. Mmmm he was so right.
Thankfully the rest of the walk up Broadway to Union Square was far more relaxed. We then took Park avenue until we reached Grand Central station. Seemed like a good place to have a break and some refreshments , so we headed into the main concourse then down into the food court.
The rest of the afternoon took us upto the Apple store near Central Park, then down to Times Square and eventually back down 7th Avenue with a lunch stop on the way. Overall a very high step count on my pedometer …. 24,350 steps (11.35miles) !! SO deserved those beers and Pizza last night 🙂
Love the wisdom & knowledge shot of the Rockefeller, great view from your hotel too.
