Steins and Speedboats

We arrived in Padstow just as the sun came out. Its exactly how you would imagine a small Cornish fishing village, with narrow windy streets and lots of small pubs and food places along the harbour. We had booked a room above Rick Steins The Seafood Resturant which was absolutly lovely, almost like having a small studio appartment. Rick Stein has several restaurants and hotels in Padstow so much so its sometimes referred to as Padstein .

So being in Cornwall we felt we had to sample the local pasties. So we bought a small traditional beef pasty each and wondered down to the beach whilst eating it. On the way back we desided to go out on the local speedboat trip for a laugh. Luckily we were up the front because everyone in the back got absolutly soaked, but it was great fun speeding down the bay at 25 knots!!

Although we stayed at the Seafood Resturant , we actually ate at St Petrocs Bistro, which is just set back from the main street. Its a lovely little place and felt very new England in style. On our walk back to the hotel, we found a local brass band playing on the dockside which made a lovely end to the night.

Tomorrow were off to Cardiff and another country Wales!
